I was broke. My friend the art director said, Be a writer. So I went to Humber. Got hired at Ammirati, miraculously – they didn’t hire juniors then. You learn a lot at your first job. I learned to keep learning. I’ve been doing my best on that front. At big agencies and boutiques, as writer and creative director and all those senior/associate/grouphead/VP roles in between. Now I freelance. Writing written. Creative directed. Presentations presented. With eighteen-plus years of learning.
